To explain the significance of the copper: Between 1984 and 1986 the Statue of Liberty underwent a restoration replacing among other things, the original copper supports. For close to 30 years these original copper supports were stored in a Tennessee warehouse. Around 2014 Alex and Ani secured some of this copper and then used it in the production of every item in their very limited Liberty Copper collection - including the copper flame in this necklace!
