It's commonly known that the tonal qualities of bone are far superior to the low-cost plastic nuts supplied on most guitars. And now with slot Compensation and our own SB Concept design, you have the highest technology nut available. A difficult nut to make, but the results are worth the effort. The Sonic Barrier Concept - It has been theorized in the guitar world that each individual string would play with purer tone if each string had a separate nut . This idea was the result of a school of thought that, if you keep the sonic energy of the E from interfering with the sonic energy of the A right next door, then each string will simply sound better. Our SB Concept accomplishes this within a single nut body. We sawcut .015" slots between each string slot to acoustically insulate the string slots from each other. Therefore the energy produced by each string is effectively directed downward into the guitar body. It doesn't aimlessly migrate across the nut length and dissipate.Far Superior Tone and Greater ProjectionNut Compensation - over the years in our shop we noticed that bridge travel on many if not most Fender guitars was not quite enough to achieve perfect intonation. How many of you have played a Fender and it simply doesn't sound as "in tune" as a Gibson? We found that by filing a precision slot at the front end of each string slot, the string scale is increased just enough to significantly help with intonation (tuning). That's what we offer here.
