She specialized in Painting, portraits, landscapes, exhibited in important shows and won various awards. She Studied at the Art Students League and is a graduate of Parsons School of Fine and Applied Art. She worked in the fashion world in New York and later studied with George Pearce Ennis, Jon Corbino, Luis Bosa, Junius Allen and others. She Elsie Wilde kept a studio in Rockport, where she showed regularly with the Rockport Art Association in the thirties and forties. She was well known for landscapes, still lifes, and portraits, which she worked in watercolor and oil. Most of her work is traditional, representational, but she executed a fair number of non-representational, abstract pieces in the 1960s.
