Description: For sale is this gorgeous wall relief which dipicts the God Anubis performing the processes of mummication of King Tutankhamun (King Tut). This item is Vintage New (see below). It is a reproduction made by the company Ancient Treasures, A.T. 1994. A.T. was a leading museum reproduction company located in USA, California (from 1989-2007). Their collection included over 700 museum reproductions of ancient cultures and art masterpieces from famous museums all around the world. This company only sold to business and museums (gift stores). Each item is handmade and handpainted by master artists. This item is vintage new. My parents owned a collectable/curio business from the late 1980s to the early 2000s which sold unique, rare, and very high quality collectibles. A.T. was one business they purchased merchandise from. They were fascinated and scholars of Ancient Egypt which was reflected in their merchandise they sold in their store. This item was unsold merchandise from their store. Once the business closed, all merchandise has been kept in rubbermade containers in a finished basement, very clean and smoke free home. History of the image"With the head of a jackal and the body of a human, Anubis was the diety of death and mummification in ancient egypt who accompanied kings into the afterlife. It is said that Anubis oversaw every aspect of the process of dying. He faciliated the mummifcation, protected the grave of the dead, and whether or not one's soul should be granted enternal life. He is the god and protector of the dead, the god of embalming, and the god of lost souls. He is one of the oldest gods of Egypt. One of his duties was presiding over weighing of the heart ceremony. In ancient egypt, the heart was where a person's emotions, intellect, and morality were contained. Inorder for a soul to cross into the afterlife, the heart must be judged as pure and good." In this image Abunis performs the ceromony of King Tut in the mummification process, preparing the king for afterlife. I believe the plaque is made of sandstone and handpainted. Apprx 10x13 inches.
