Original frame with slightly wavy glass. This calligraphy penwork was hand done using a few styles of penmanship. Mostly black ink, but there's also red. Very nicely done. Great Folk Art look. This is set in its original gold frame under its slightly wavy glass. The back has cardboard with its original framing label which reads " Howland's Art Parlor, Streator, Illinois". There is also a little bit of remnants of at least 2 layers of newspaper backing above the original brown paper backing. Antique. Over 100 years old. Good condition for age. Paper used for the calligraphy penwork has toned brown from age. Calligraphy penmanship good shape with only very slight fading of letters. Glass is original and slightly wavy. Frame is a thin ornate Gold frame. This is ready to hang. Great Victorian Folk Art look. Condition is good for age. The frame has scuffing. The paper has discolored over the years.
