Description: For sale is a cute cup / mug / little tankard made of Creamware in the Staffordshire region of England in the mid to late 18th century. The piece really spoke to me - cute shape, nice decoration and in pretty good shape for what it is. The piece is nicely modeled and has a strap type handle to one side. It is hand painted with a floral pattern called the King's rose with a larger floral arrangement to one side, a smaller one to the opposite side and single flowers in between plus a nice trim design to the top rim. A really nice looking piece! The mug is in great condition with some minor issues - a chip to the bottom edge as shown, a firing flaw to the same spot on the other side, a short hairline to the top edge, a hairline across the bottom terminal of the handle and fine crazing to the surface which is common to these pieces. Some staining to the bottom part but it's not very obvious since it is very even. The piece is unmarked but that is normal for this type of item during this period.
