The medium-sized American oil can is comprised of reinforced galvanized steel with oversized riveted joint handle and unique clasp used to keep the cap tightly in place. The large oil can retains the original elongated oval-shaped brazed brass plaque with the lettering 5 Gallon Property of Standard Oil Company Indiana. The neck below the cap contains a thin piece of strap metal with embossed lettering identifying the can as "Standard Oil." Measures approximately 12 x 22 inches.
