Antique Aesthetic Transferware Daffodil Brown Dinner Plate W.H.Grindley &Co 1882

Description: Antique Aesthetic brown transferware dinner plate in the Daffodil pattern by W.H. Grindley & Co tunstall, Staffordshire, England. Circa 1882. It has an English registry mark with a date code for January 7, 1882. The daffodil pattern features repeating vignettes of luscious Daffodils along the rim. Oversized daffodils grace the well of the plate with a landscape scene of a young boy watching a sailing vessel rounding a castle. The pattern displays the victorian era’s love of nature. It is in great antique condition with crazing typical of earth ware. Some stains may have seeped through the crazing. There is a very small flea bite on the black rim ( not visible from front, please check pictures 8,9). It measures approximately 9 5/8” in diameter. Note: Please ask all pertinent question in advance of purchase so as to avoid misunderstanding.
