Description: Antique American Late Federal neo–Classical Sewing Work Table Circa 1825 A fine American late federal period neo-classical mahogany sewing or work table, circa 1825. With two drop leaves and three working drawers, with "dummy drawers" on the back. All mahogany and book matched mahogany veneers, with cedar secondary. The sides of the table are lyre shaped with acanthus leaves carved on the legs. With brass paw feet and casters. The bottom drawer is a pull-out section where the original sewing basket sits, covered in a beautiful green fabric. The table has a nice old finish, the top being slightly distressed with one split and several repairs. It is 18" wide by 18" deep by 28 1/2" high. Opened the top is 35 4/4" wide.
