Description: For sale is a vintage Burke Drill press. The last two pictures are of what they originally looked like. A little history that was told to me was that in 1903 George H. Burke founded Burke Machinery Co. The firm moved to Conneaut, OH in 1910 and changed names in 1911 to Burke Machine Tool Co. It was taken over in 1948 by Smith & Mills Co. They were also known as U.S.-Burke Machine Tool Co. Better known for their inexpensive Millrite milling machines, they also made an early machinists' drill press. The pictures tell the story.
