Description: This antique burlwood marquetry box is a beautiful addition to any room. Made in France, it features an inlaid bird design with a hinged lid and 2 Airs music mechanism. The box is suitable for a small jewelry collection or a catch-all for keys or other small items. Measures 9.75” x 7”. It is handmade with burl-wood inlay and features a unique bird in ring on the lid. The box is an original piece from the early 20th century. The original paper label is present on the base, difficult to read, appears to say 2 AIRS, Marque LR Déposée, made in France. Some hand written notations on the label are now illegible. Small brass ball feet add to the art deco profile. READ: The music box is semi-functional. I’ve lightly wound it using pliers and it plays lazily. I have not opened the closed compartment housing the musical mechanism. There is a lock, but no key. The burlwood veneer is intact, but not perfect.
