Description: Description This is a great mantel that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home.It is made of walnut and is painted.The shelf is supported by 2 corbels, both are loaded with Eastlake spoon carving on the faces and sides.Below the corbels are pilasters with fluting, spoon carving and bracketed feet.The breast has simple repeating Eastlake designs. It measures 47.75 inches wide, 48.25 tall, and is 12 inches deep.The firebox opening is 27 inches wide by 35 tall.Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. It came to me disassembled, I tacked it together for pics but it should be properly put together. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job!
