Description: The Grand Antique Mall, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, presents an Antique Walküre GERMAN DOLL by Kley & Hahn who is 30” tall, has a bisque face, swivel socket head, and multi-jointed composite body, brown hair in ringlets, brown sleepy eyes, and her original clothing and shoes. Circa: 1908-1910. Imprinted on the back of her neck: 16 Walküre 14-1/2. Her composite body has separate ball joints at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, and knees. Fine, completely intact face: Upper and lower painted lashes and feathered brows. Open smiling mouth showing teeth. Pierced ears. Dimple in chin. The antique Walküre doll is perfect for doll collectors and enthusiasts alike. ABOUT THE MAKER: The Kley & Hahn Doll Factory was founded in Ohrdruf, Thüringia, Germany in 1902 by Albert Kley and Paul Hahn as a porcelain factory making bisque doll heads. Among the Kley & Hahn doll trade names is Walküre. SET OF 13 PIECES INCLUDES: 1 doll, 1 stand, 2 wigs (brown & auburn), 1 pair antique German white kid leather shoes (inside: IDEAL 2 5598; Ideal Company began making dolls & clothing in 1907); 1 pair antique German brown leather high top side button shoes (inside marked 520- 8490), 1 pair of socks, 1 silk dress. Cotton clothing: 1 dress, 1 pinafore, 1 petticoat, 1 drawers (under garment), 1 night dress. DIMENSIONS: 30”Tall. WT of doll=4.70 lbs. WT of doll & items=5.75 lbs. CONDITION: Good over all antique condition. Face in excellent condition. Fine artistry. Doll and clothing have no odors. Doll has no repairs. The doll's body has come apart at the shoulders; a shoulder piece can be re-inserted. The skin on her upper body is beginning to peel. The newer rope at the shoulder socket is too tight and can be released. She is missing a left hand finger. CLOTHING: Her clothes have been gently washed in cold water without soap, and ironed. There is some light staining on the drawers and slip: we leave the decision to do a more thorough cleaning to the buyer. Left & right leather shoes are each missing 1 button.
