Description: Beautiful rare antique French or New England 1780-1820's Primitive Farmhouse tapestry needlepoint loom stand. Early doweled and wood spool screw frame. Tapestry frame can be lowered and raised to your preferred height by screwing the knobs up or down the stand. There is a piece of later muslin remains along the edge of frame to which attach the fabric project.It is partially collapsible. There are early iron wing nuts that I removed from the base for easier packaging....simple to reassemble.Wood is dry original early worn finish with its original near 200 year old patina. This piece could be American, English or French.You can see its original satin patina to its turn knobs ~ gorgeous clue of what it could look like if you ever wished to bring the luster back ~! You will see scuffs and marks, but nothing to affect its strength or integrity. Circa 1780 - 1820 Natural rustic charm ~ perfect amount of primitive appeal ~ ! Zoom photos for better view.
