Description: Antique Indo Persian Ottoman Bronze Shield and Tabar Iron Axe Circa Pre 1900 Shield is in very good condition with finely detailed ornamentation and chiseled etching with mixed metal inlay. Shield measures approximately 18 inches - See photos use the zoom feature to view photos well. One of the rings on the back around the hand guard pillow is missing and a piece of wire was used in its place. It is very old im surprised its in this good of condition. Displays beautifully. Iron Tabar Axe is approximately 28 inches long see photos for dimensions of axe and blade. Both handle and blade have chiseled etching and inly very nicely done. Shows appropriate wear for its age. I am estimating these items age by extensive research this style was made and used from the 17th century into the 19th century. I cannot pinpoint age of manufacture but i believe them to be pre 1900. In my research i found that commonly combinations of copper mixed bronze nickel and silver were used in the inlays of these but i have not tested for silver content sold as is as shown.
