Antique Kimberely & Sons 22" Jack/Fore Plane "Highest Awards Three Gold Medals"

Description: For a complete description and condition grading, please read the full description before purchasing! A fantastic 22" jack/fore plane by Kimberely & Sons, circa 1850's-1906. It has a very nice 2.5" wide thick tapered double iron with a superb I & H Sorby strike. The wedge is original and damage-free. These planes have a metallic insert for the bed and is just shy of 9 pounds. There is some wear, but no damage to any part. It has a light "D Kimberely & Sons Warranted" strike on the toe, which is upside down. It also has a "Highest Awards Three Gold Medals Patent" strike just in front/bed of the frog. No signs of wear or rust - probably never used. No problems or issues. EXCELLENT: 95-99% of original finish remaining. Very slight wear with no rust. No problems or issues. GOOD PLUS: 85-95% of original finish remaining. Used but well maintained. Scuffs, light wear, very little rust. GOOD: 65-85% of original finish remaining. Moderate wear and/or rust. Minor deficiencies - owner's initials, nicks, etc. GOOD MINUS: 50-65% of original finish remaining. Has seen hard use, but remains serviceable. Scratches, nicks, dents, cracks, chips, improper replacement parts. FAIR: 25-50% of original finish remaining. Heavy wear and rust. Some parts are broken, missing, or improper - serious flaws. POOR: 0-25% of original finish remaining. Pitted, abused, heavily worn. Serious damage and missing major parts.
