Antique Large Victorian Turquoise & Gold Gilt Yellow Star Burst Pendant

Description: On offer for you is this very large antique Victorian star burst pendant in yellow gold gilt. It features an array of alternating turquoise paste cabochons, pave set to decorate a large star burst. These turquoise paste stones are a vibrant robin's egg blue in colour, and contrast wonderfully against their bright yellow gold gilt setting. The pendant itself is more convex in a curved design rather than completely flat, sitting in a slightly raised setting off of the neck. Small gold balls are found on the reverse of the star points to make it's wear comfortable. The star hangs articulated from a large matching bail also set with turquoise paste stones. The bail is quite wide, and will fit on most chain sizes. For styling purposes, I've photographed this pendant on an antique Georgian chain. I believe this pendant started life with a brooch fitting the the reverse which has since been removed. There is a "stripe" of brass coloured metal showing where the gold gilt has rubbed down on the reverse side where this brooch fitting would have been. Some patina to the reverse side. One small chip to one of the medium stones - colour remains the same throughout and you don't really notice it unless you look for it. Some solder and tarnish to the jump ring and bar supporting the pendant hanging from the bail. Please use photos as part of the item description.
