Description: A rare royal presentation photograph of Belgium King Leopold III in military dress with his second wife Princess Lillian. The matte was signed and dated by Princess Lillian in July 1951, the month and year the king abdicated due to political pressures. Original black and white photograph with stamp of Royal photographer underneath. The backing matte measures 12.75 inches high and 9.5 inches wide. The photo measures 8 inches high and 6 inches wide. The frame measures 14 inches high and 11 inches wide. Good condition with light age-related wear as seen in photos. The backing is slightly loose. Leopold III (3 November 1901 – 25 September 1983) was King of the Belgians from 23 February 1934 until his abdication on 16 July 1951. Princess Lilian of Belgium, Princess of Réthy (born Mary Lilian Henriette Lucie Josephine Ghislaine Baels; 28 November 1916 – 7 June 2002) was the second wife of King Leopold III of Belgium.
