Description: This item is a 36 1/4" right-handed hickory shafted iron. It is a dot face club that has Push iron on the sole. You don't see many of these. Weighted to hit the push shot. 26* loft and an A 9 swingweight. Made by William Gibson of Kinghorn Scotland (star cleek mark). Made for the pro Alex Herd of Surrey. The head is clean and not all rusted. It does have the expected play nicks and dings and some micro pitting. Markings are somewhat faint. Please look at the many zoom pictures to get a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old apparently original hickory. It is straight, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in fair vintage condition. If you collect unusual club names, then here's one for you. If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3-pound box. This item shipped UPS Ground. For those of you that never ship but only receive items, the further you are from me in NC the more shipping will be. That is the way the carriers charge.
