Description: Antique Vtg Postcard Shanagolden WI Street Scene #29 Shanagolden was founded in 1902 by the Nash Lumber Company. It consisted of a sawmill, a boarding house, a store (that contained a post office), homes for workers (of the Nash Lumber Company), a schoolhouse and a four mile railroad branch that connected to Wisconsin Central. In 1907, the sawmill burned down. A couple of years later, the Mellen Lumber Company bought the mill and built a new shingle mill and resumed operations. In 1912, the Mellen Lumber Company moved operations to Glidden, WI. Most of the workers moved too. They even moved some of their homes by railroad cars and horse drawn sleighs. The town of Shanagolden slowly withered away. Please see photos for best idea of condition Happy to combine shippingAll items come from a smoke free/pet friendly home
