Description: Antique Whitman's Chocolates Hinged Tin Box Art Nouveau, Loveliness Chocolates Loveliness, indeed! Charming "shabby chic" hinged metal chocolates box must be at least 100 years old; probably older. Whitman's began marketing their chocolates in the iconic "Sampler" package in 1912, and this certainly appears to predate that. This tin is near impossible to find! Advertising piece for Whitman's Lovliness Chocolates, it has the weighted lid typical of the era. Graphics are clear and good, but some oxidation. A wonderful old display piece and perfect for storing treasured keepsakes, old photographs, etc. Measures 7 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" However, as is normal for me, I did not attempt to clean it, and oxidation does appear to be surface only as it hasn't affected graphics to any significant degree. Nice condition for the age. Some surface rust; one spot where paint is rubbed away. Please see photos for best description of condition. Very nice, vintage box. Packed well, shipped fast.
