Description: This object came as a part of a rather 'dark' (Gestapo) LOT which consisted of: Leather truncheon, "SiPo Stahlrute", Pertrix torch, and roughly cast spiked aluminum knucks*. As the matter of fact - after my initial research and consequential amazement - this baton might be the 'darkest' part of it. The last photo shows the almost complete lot that was found (together) not so long ago in the eastern part of Croatia. The complete lot is not for sale out of personal and technical reasons. The potential buyer can contact me via messages, if interested in the background of this 'find' and the provenance and/or story of this artifact. This truncheon, based on my personal experience, seems more likely to be something out of the imperial times, but as it was found among other things that are obviously third reich era, the story it came with seems plausible. What's worth to mention, my own research into these object(s) resulted with only a handful of matches and those suggest two possible facts; 1. such things are EXTREMELY rare - for I haven't been able to find any other similar enough or exact artifact online or in books. 2. quite possibly (unfortunately) have been of use in the concentration camps by the CaPo and guard units. That's also the main reason I'm selling it (unlike the rest of the things), since that 'background' is a bit too dark even for me. If anyone is interested in the C.C./ CaPo / camp guard connection, I can provide a link or a screen of extremely similar object offered and sold under that description. The evaluation was just shy of 1000$ ;O Interesting fact was also, that the marking on the leather lanyard was I able to notice only some days after the acquisition of this baton, since it's so small, shallow, the leather extremely dry, and the letters/numbers to become barely visible only after a splash of mountain gear oil. But non the less, that (D.R.G.M.) marking definitely proves it's german provenance, it's pre/during WW2 origin, and it's official state (repressive) usage. *The rest of the acquired lot and pictured on the last photo is currently NOT for sale, and this listing includes only the leather truncheon / baton in the above description and photos. For any additional info. I'll be glad to comment, assist, provide. Thank you for looking.
