Description: From when he arrived in Normandy. To busy fighting to take pictures. It looks like from photos he was with a half-track unit hauling a small gun Vintage photo from WWII 1942-45 GI Charlie Sapnas's photo Album. He was with the 1st Inf Division, The Big Red 1, 26th Inf Reg., Blue Spaders. Photos from Fort Benning GA early in June 1943, then England, Assault of North Africa, Invasion of Sicily, back to England to prepare for D-Day, Then D-Day Invasion and in France. Late Fall finds him in Belgium then in Aachen Germany. Nothing in Album after Dec of 1944. Lots of photos of him marked "me" on the back and I finally found his Name Charles Sapnas of 235 South Street, Philadelphia, PA., born in 1920 died in 1975. But more research needed to make sure I have the correct Charles Sapnas. More research needed. Album was put together after the war since some photos have older album residue on back + the album is not in chronological order. photos end in Dec 1944, maybe had another album? Nothing written in album... If anything written on back I will have a pic of back in the listing. SEE Size in condition box above..
