Description: Up for sale is a neat folding game board. It has a checker board on the outside and backgammon on the inside. Found in the Catskills in New York State. Looks to date from the 1920s to the 1940s. Homemade and folky. They used some gray radiator paint. 3 total colors. You can see some of the lines they used to mark the board before painting it. I really like the leaves in the corner of the checker board. 15 and 7/8 inches tall. A hair under 15 and 3/4 inches wide when opened up. See soda can for scale. Condition: Nice condition. Has lots of edge wear. Two of the corners are really worn down and show bare wood. Someone wrote the name Nate on the bottom edge with a sharpie, so that was added much later to the rest of the board. Some staining, including a spot inside. That might clean up (i've never tried). Some scratches. Some gouges in the wood. When folded out you can see the edge wear which is now the middle of the board. Otherwise all original paint. No touch ups. No repairs but might be an added nail or two. Otherwise no restoration. Displays well. See photos and video to determine condition.
