Description: This is a vintage antique sample of patented antique barbed wire. This sample features a George C. Baker patent, dated February 27, 1883. This wire is called "Baker's Two Point Flat Barely Barb on One of Three Lines" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 753-B). This wire features three twisted together round line wires of the same gauge. Barbs are two pointed made from flat stock. Barb is wrapped once around one line wire. Barbing points are very small and referred to as "Barely Barbs". Wire sample shows light to moderate pitting. There are seven barbs. Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered. There is some light bending of points, but no broken or missing barbing points.
