Description: This is not the first year (1950) that this issue was made. This is the rarer 1952-53 production which includes a couple of players who were not in the HOF the first year that this set was made. This is a particularly nice higher grade set that looks to not have been handled at all. Most (well over half) of the cards look to be Nm+, Nm/Mt, or even MINT. Obviously, there's a minority of cardsthat were made with imperfect centering, as is always the case. But all in all, this set is FAR ABOVE the quality of what is typically found. Only BABE has been sent off to get graded. While Babe only got a 7, it is a true head scratcher to figure out why the card isn't an 8. If you feel like getting a few dozen cards graded, and you select the reasonably well centered cards, you'll get more 8s and 9s than anything below that. The group includes the original box that these cards were sold in.
