Description: Beautiful Silver Plated Bronze Medal / Plaque Cupido Marriage By René Baudichon This is a beautiful silver plated bronze medal / plaque made in France circa 1900 by the famous artist René Baudichon. It is decorated in high relief. The front panel is decorated with a highly detailed scene…a couple, to left, supporting one another, the man holding a staff, walk on a path at a sunrise, rocks ahead of them 'AMORE SOCIO VIA SECURA' (Partnership with love safe way). The reverse shows Cupid, facing left, seated with an open book in which he writes with an arrow held in his right hand, his left hand against his face; on the ground, his bow and quiver with arrows, a tree to left…It reads ‘ 1905 - 14 Junio - 1930’ and it bears an intricate monogram. The lateral panel has the French mark for bronce ‘’BRONZE’ and the foundry mark, it is signed to the front ‘RENÉ BAUDICHON’ The heavy metalwork is in perfect condition with nice soft patina. This is a marriage medal for a Silver wedding anniversary, René Baudichon graduated at the École des Beaux-Arts of Paris (1878- 1963).
