This is the eighth watercolor I've done of this famous hotel. HISTORY: This fabulous hotel has had many Hollywood Star guests, including Charlie Chaplin and Marilyn Monroe! The city of Los Angeles was built around the hotel, which was built in 1912. DETAILS: This print is professionally made on card stock paper. It measures 11 X 14 inches, and is signed by the artist (K Jones) in the lower left corner. The title, date and other information is included in pencil on the front and back. Her father has placed (numerous times) in the top tenth percentile in state and federal duck stamp art contests, and her mother has sold work at a local gallery. Kristi studied art at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts (NOAFA), and is also self-taught. She has sold work at local shows and galleries, and has exhibited in shows in New Orleans and in northwest Caddo Parish, including Centenary College's Meadows Museum of Art and Artspace in downtown Shreveport, and in Eugene, Oregon. In 2011, she was awarded a visual arts grant from the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC). In 2015, she was commissioned to create 29 paintings for the new University Medical Center in New Orleans. She is a member of Louisiana Artists, Inc. and the Hoover Watercolor Society. Her artwork has sold nationally, internationally, and to royalty!
