Description: This is a modified old stock 1960s/70s leather rally band. The ends have been narrowed from 21mm to 20mm. The band is fully stitched for durability. The stitching has not been altered and the integrity of the strap hasn't been affected; just the outside ends narrowed and repolished. Look at the macro pictures we've included here and you can the modification is professionally done. These bands sold out 10 years ago in 20mm black, so customers have been asking for 20mm black versions and we're now making them available again here in this auction. We only have a handful of these available in 20mm black, then the black will be completely sold out. Vintage leather rally band from the 1960s/70s. This band was made in the same factory in Switzerland at the same time as the original Heuer bands, which were identical just left unsigned. This one says Rodania on the back. Sold without a buckle (or you can buy it in combination with a Heuer buckle in another Squinky auction). We've sold 100s of these to Heuer vintage collectors since discovering this cache of old bands 25 years ago, but now we're down to the end of our supply in black in all sizes. This is a completely New Old Stock 1960s/70s original vintage leather rally band for a Heuer Autavia 1163, a 20mm lugs Carrera, Montreal, Jarama or other popular Heuer models. Beautiful smooth finish to the leather with matching stitching. Rare type of rally band with the distinct larger and smaller perforated holes combination. Standard length strap is 7 1/4 inches long (18.7cm). Metric measurement of the two individual pieces of the band are 112/73mm. The thickness goes from 3.1mm where the band meets the watch to 2.7mm at the tail end. Takes a buckle with the 16mm inner opening size.
