Description: I don't know a lot about model trains. This kit belonged to my late ex-husband. He bought a lot of train stuff and never got around to putting the kit together. There is a description on the side of the box: Plug door versions of the 50' AAR design box cars were starting in early 1954. These cars were insulated and ere designated AAR class "RBL". Most were built with standard 16 panel riveted sides, but many cars were built by General American with a horizontal rivet strip running the length of the car side. These cars were owned by many railroads throughout the country. American Refrigerator Transit (ART) and General American Leasing (GARX) also operated large fleets of these cars. These long-lasting cars would be right at home on any layout set from the early 1950's to the modern day. I do have three more of these kits. I will list them later.
