Description: This listing is for an IPG 30w high brightness, high efficiency fiber coupled laser diode. You may have seen some of my old listings for 30-60w ipg laser diodes. This is my last batch of diodes form the same government contractor source, so when these are gone, they are gone! These diodes are something special. At first glance they might appear lower power than diodes I offered previously. At Imax these diodes can put out 30w. But where they really 'shine' is at around 20w. At this reduced power these diodes can have efficiencies in excess of 65%! These super high efficiency diodes are how IPG are able to offer fiber lasers with wallplug efficiencies of over 50%. All these diodes will come with the fiber end precision cleaved and ready for use. The leads have been pre tinned, and while these were run for a few minutes to cherry pick a special wavelength tolerance by my source, they are otherwise brand new and unused. Back when I had my last lot of diodes from the same source I had a few people ask about the potential for battery powering these diodes, well here is your chance. You dont get better than 65% efficiency! Note that in the following youtube video I simply placed a short focal length lens (bought on ebay for $3) in front of the output to collimate the beam. This is NOT focused and still it almost instantly burned through thin plywood. This would make the perfect foundation for a cnc laser cutter / engraver.
