Parts Description: Leather Pouch: Simple yet very cool looking and useful. Made with genuine premium grade top-grain leather made in Italy. What is premium grade top-grain leather? When leather is processed, the hide is thick, so it is split in layers like the layers of an onion. The best leather is the TOP, or the first layer thereby called top-grain leather. Premium grade means that the leather is processed in a way such that the coating and coloring of the leather is processed to resist being scratched easily and is also easy to clean. Non-premium leathers are scratched easily. If you run your fingernail on a leather that is not premium grade, you can visibly see the scratch caused by your fingernail. They use premium top-grain leather in very expensive purses and in leather seats including car seats such as for cars like the Ferrari.Strike Everywhere Fatwood Matchstick: Handmade and highly effective. It is the simplest, easiest, and quickest way to start your fire. It is just about foolproof to use. Ignite the Strike Everywhere Fatwood Matchstick on any rough surface. When the match ignites it will also ignite the piece of fatwood that is attached to it. Fatwood catches on fire easily and burns very hot. It can literally burn while it is held right side up with the flame on top because it is rich in pine resin which is highly flammable. The fatwood is attached just below the head of the match which helps to prevent it from breaking when striking it on a rough surface to ignite. The strike anywhere matches are the original hard-to-find UCO strike anywhere matches.Charcloth: Made with tightly weaved, thick 10 oz. 100% natural cotton. Start an ember with the charcloth using either the magnifying glass during a sunny day or with the ferrocerium rod that comes with the Kit. Use the ember on a “bird’s nest” to start your fire. Each piece of charcloth is big enough that you can cut it in half to use which will double the amount of charcloth you have.FireBall: The Fireball is handmade and it's waterproof and highly flammable because of the pine pitch it is made of. It has a jute twine loop on one end that you can hook onto a carabiner to carry with you. The jute twine loop acts as a tinder that can be ignited using the ferrocerium rod that is provided to start the fireball on fire. Cut the jute twine loop and separate the strands thoroughly then fluff it up. Ignite the fluffed-up jute twine tinder with the ferrocerium rod and hold the body of the Fireball slightly downwards to let the flame catch the pine pitch on fire. As a backup, if for some reason the jute twine gets wet, you can still build a fire with the Fireball by igniting the jute twine that is hidden by the pitch on the front end. To ignite the hidden jute twine, pound the tip of the Fireball to expose the jute twine covered in pine pitch. Fluff it up then ignite it with a ferrocerium rod. You can use the ferrocerium rod to ignite any fine tinder that is flammable. Magnifying glass: Use it to ignite the charcloth to make an ember or other fire tinder. Fatwood Firestick: The fatwood firestick is handmade from fatwood. Using the back of your knife or a small piece of rock, break the tip that is covered with pine pitch and fluff up the jute underneath. Easily ignite the exposed jute with the fire steel.
