Description: A fine example of the acclaimed Polyglot Bible as published by Bagster & Sons starting in the Georgian period through the Victorian era. This example carries no date mark, however the publisher logo matches editions printed circa 1850. This version is the facsimile large version, leather bound with gilded accents and embossed cross and line decoration, with 1/3 page block drops. Page block edges gilded on all three exposed sides. It corresponds page for page, and line for line, with the two well-known Pocket Editions. The text is that of the Authorized Version, printed in double column with the references in a third central column in Bagster style. The binding is all in sewn silk thread, which is all intact. Two marking ribbons sewn in place. Please see condition notes below. Approximate exterior measurements, cover included: 8 1/2" tall, 5 1/2" wide, is 1 1/4" thick. Line 2 Condition Notes:Complete with no torn or missing pages. A few pages have stained from contact with the marking ribbons. No inscriptions or markup throughout. Covers in good condition, some finish wear, especially at page block edge folds.. Spine has a 1 1/2" separation from the front cover board. No loose or torn binding silks. All maps intact.
