Description: 72”x 88” Circa 1870; purchased at quilt show in Arlington Heights, IL. Cotton; white, red, green, and cheddar. Hand pieced, hand quilted. Quilting design, hanging diamond and double shell on border. Hand quilting is extraordinary! Lily blocks are set on point, alternating with plain blocks; 4 across and 5 down. Border is 5” pieced streak of lightning of red, or red and cheddar. Quiltingoverall is excellent. Some slight stains on back (pictured). Some pieces show wear onfront; migration of color of green leaves to yellow (pictured). Overall quilt is in very good condition.
