LINDBERGH ~ ENVELOPE ~ Flown 02/20/1928 ~ Lindbergh Special The item in this listing is a very rare original Charles A. Lindbergh flown 1st class mail envelope post marked Feb 20th of 1928 from St Louis Mo at 3:30 PM. This envelope has the "Lindbergh Again Flies the Air Mail" stamp with the corresponding date stamp and has a "handwritten note stating Lindbergh Special". This envelope is in its original condition and is unopened, the postal canceled stamp has some bleed though to the fold side. Charles Lindbergh Flown Cover . 6" x 3.5" envelope with "Lindbergh Again Flies the Air Mail" handstamp, St. Louis, MO, cancelled on February 20-21, 1928. In February 1928, Lindbergh flew on a commemorative flight between St. Louis and Chicago to recreate his early flying days as a mail carrier. According to Scott Specialized Catalogue, the stamp was issued on June 18, 1927, several months before this usage. This cover has a horseshoe-shaped ink stamp which reads "Lindbergh Again Flies the Air Mail" at lower right. The letter bears a ten-cent Lindbergh air mail stamp as well as a handwritten Lindbergh Special: Envelope is lightly age toned, but otherwise pristine. Although these horseshoe covers are not overly unique, those bearing "Lindbergh Specials" are quite rare and desirable.Please read the full description below!
