Description: For sale today is the rare, essential, and out-of-print (oop) Marvel Comics hardcover (hc) graphic novel Civil War (A Marvel Comics Event) by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven, published in 2008. It is the first print edition, and 512 pages long. Collects Civil War (2006 Marvel) #1-7, Marvel Spotlight: Civil War Aftermath (2007), and Civil War Script Book TPB (2007). Written by MARK MILLAR. Art by STEVE MCNIVEN. Cover by STEVE MCNIVEN. The landscape of the Marvel Universe is changing, and it's time to choose: Whose side are you on? I am not a comics grader, but I try to be as thorough as possible when assessing books for any flaws. I don't believe in using a number grade system - to me they are mostly utilized as a method to be ambiguous about exact condition and/or individual imperfections - but I do attempt to describe anything other than minor cover shelf-scuffing/scratching in detail. If a certain flaw discussed below does not mention that it affects inside pages, then it does not. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This copy is in good overall condition, with a solid attached spine, a great overall hardcover (photos#14,15) and great inside pages (photos#16,17,18 examples). It does have some signs of wear including a few indents/dings, but most of the flaws are lighter and affecting its externals. **Photo#3:-Spine edge: ~3/4" ding/indent starting adjacent edge's middle on back jacket, shows as 2 small but moderate indents on the back hardcover. **Photo#4: -Upper spine corner: Ding/indent near where it meets the back cover, shows around the jacket edge as some indenting/compression, a ~1/2" indent around it on the back jacket and back hardcover below. Light scuffing on jacket. **Photo#5:-Lower spine corner: ~1/2" ding/indents at/around where it meets each cover, shows as indents on hardcovers below.**Photo#6: -Front cover top edge: Two light ~1" creases/depressions nearby/parallel the jacket's middle (photo#10 w/illumination), causes ~1" and ~2" waves/cover lifts on either side of it (photo#11 w/illumination). Otherwise light scuffing.-Outer corner: Small ding/indent/bend, shows on hardcover below. **Photo#7:-Front cover bottom edge: Small indent/scuff near jacket's middle that shows as a depression/indent on the hardcover below, otherwise light shelf-scuffing if any.-Outer corner: ~1/2" bend/light indent, shows on hardcover below as a bend, and on ~1/10 pages as a tiny indent/bend. **Photo#8: -Back cover top edge: Nearby/parallel indent nearby jacket edge, edge itself has some mostly light scuffing/flaring along it. Light ~1/2" indent starting adjacent edge near its middle.-Outer corner: Small indent/scuff/bend. **Photo#9:-Back cover bottom edge: Small scuff near outer corner with a nearby small/light jacket crease. ~7" diagonal cover indent/depression starting adjacent bottom edge (photo#12 w/illumination), shows as a ~1" indent on the hardcover below at each peripheral of the line. Otherwise, edge itself has light scuffing if any.-Outer corner: ~1/2" indent/depression, shows on hardcover below, and on ~20 pages as a light indent and ~1/4 as a light bend. **Additionally: Front jacket cover possesses a ~1" indent/scratch, and lighter ~1/2" and ~2.5" ones around its center (photo#11 w/illumination). Light diagonal ~3.5" indent/depression near page edge's middle. Some very light scratches/tiny dirty specks around its bottom half. Its page edge has 3 tiny nearby indents. Back jacket has a light ~1" indent/scratch near the spine edge's middle, and 2 small indents/depression near its page edge. Small dirty smudge and surrounding light shelf-scuffing around its upper half, with 3 small indents/depressions near the upper spine corner (all in photo#13 w/illumination). Front hardcover has a few tiny color breaks on the spine edge near the lower corner, and a few small marks/color breaks around the cover. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I both buy to read as well as sell TPBs on here, so I understand how aggravating it is to receive a comic damaged in transit.
