Description: Up for your consideration this Collectable Russian Porcelain Plate - Winter Majesty or Dear Lady Winter (Зимушка-Зима) form The Cycle of the Seasons in Russia series, in perfect condition. On the banks of the Teza river in central Russia lies the quiet village of Kholui. It is one of only a handful of Russian art centers that excel in the world-renowned art of painting using a technique that dates back to the painters of the famous Russian icons, Kholui artists mix pigments by hand in an egg-yolk base. After outlining a design, the artist applies various colours with small sable brushes. All the magic and beauty of a Russian Winter find perfect expression in "Winter Majesty", an exquisite limited edition on fine hard-fire porcelain, created from artist Sergei Devyatkin's original lacquer miniature. Framed by a rim of the richest, most amazing cobalt blue, covered with gold filigree designs as well as heart-shaped emblems with a hue reminiscent of the famous Russian blue pearls, "Winter" makes her triumphal entry. A beautiful woman clad in regal velvets and furs, she wears a jewel-encrusted headdress and a flowing blue cape ornamented with tiny gold stars. And what else would Winter be riding but the traditional troika - a large sleigh drawn by three horses. Lighting up this spirited scene, just behind Winter, is a huge gold sun, its rays revealing cozy wooden houses with steep roofs and the golden cupolas of ancient churches. It is an enchanting vision - an art treasure that only a select number of collectors will enjoy. Please note: I will accept any reasonable offer. Please check out all of the pictures and thank you for watching.
