Description: During the early 1900s, Conn was the largest maker of band instruments and manufactured several models of metal clarinets. The Pan American Special reflected their student-level metal clarinet. This serial number 114994 is a solid, well-built metal clarinet with a silver-plated body and nickel-plated keys. While it is difficult to precisely date Pan American models, we estimate that it was made in the late 1940s. We overhauled this interesting and strong-playing clarinet with all-new pads and corks. The mechanism is tight. Please see the photographs. It comes with a sturdy case and a hard rubber mouthpiece. $400 plus $25 shipping within the Continental United States.
