Description: Please see photos for best details. Extraordinary condition considering age which is almost 200 years old - I believe this to be considered a 9" Flat soup - View back view for depth - please see photos. There are very few if any of the lightest utensil marks on it. - and also a not really any spots of glaze loss ----I don't know if the heavy mottled greyish tone is the actual color or discoloration - - no cracks / no repairs. This back stamp was only used from 1847 to 67. Extremely rare size, decoration condition and age, this has almost certainly been in a cabinet or on a mantle as a display item for most of it's life. 4 identifying marks - the incised crown, the Copeland late Spode, the number and the letter and also a crossed little dark blue mark next to the Spode- please see photos... Measures 9" by 1 1/4" Very heavy and thick for it's size and most likely is a form of Ironstone. I will continue to research this beauty and add info as found! Thanks for your views! This will be sold as is as found on this!
