It displays a silver and brown patina, uncleaned. The lid is circular-shaped with separately applied eagle mount and petruding suspension loop. The eagle has spread wings suggesting its in flight, within raised concentric circles. A rivet can be seen in the centre of the tail, which can also be seen on the reverse.
