Description: 1 Pair (2) Legendary Sony Coral Holey Basket - Excels in Open Baffle speaker cabinets w/Tube Amplifiers 8 ohms. Removed from the same unit, matched pair. These are the 083-13 Holey Basket speakers, The first in the series was the 082-11, then the 12 and the last series were the 082-13. These are the best in this Coral speaker series. This all original pair has been tested and they are working great, and sound wonderful. I have tested these speakers using one of my single ended custom pure class A 45 tube amplifiers. These little speakers are full range with with over sized Alnico magnets. They are super efficient and will work perfectly with low power single ended triode tube amplifiers. This pair is perfect. The edges are still soft, great cone movement and no cone rubbing. From smoke free environment. These little Alnico speakers were made by Coral, and used for Sony audio, back in the early 1960's and are very popular with audiophiles. They have 4" baskets & 5" frame, but have a much bigger full range sound. They are 8 ohms and are very efficient. Known unofficially as Coral Holey Baskets, these little 3.5 inch drivers were made by Coral for Sony, and came as portable speakers in some of the Sony Tapecorder reel to reel machines made in the mid 1960s. With large alnico magnets, fabric surrounds, and thick white ribbed cones, these little things are monsters. CORAL HOLEY BASKET (3.5" diameter cone). This is the LEGENDARY small driver from the 1960's that is a true GIANT KILLER. Folks who have discovered its astonishing performance often rank it as superior to the finest 8, 10 and 12 inch full range drivers when INSTALLED IN A PROPER CABINET. This pair of 8 ohm speakers would be a perfect compliment to use with my low power single ended tube amplifiers.
