Description: This is a really nice 1975 (1975-1979) C3 corvette frame. It can be used for C2 corvettes 1963-1967 or C3 1968-1974 with some modifications to the very rear (lots of online how to videos) n There is a 1963-1967 rear frame section ( just about the last 2’) listed on ebay right now that could be used for this very purpose. I got this as a stripped, and coated frame. I did double check the measurements and it checks out with no signs of an accident, rot, or signs of structural issues that I could find. Not rotted in the usual areas of rot near the rear kick-ups and end caps seem very solid. (see pictures of frame rail end caps) Solid frame with very little pitting for a 50 year old frame. The only area of deeper pitting I can see is in the very rear cross member, but this should not affect the structural integrity. (especially if you cut this off to make it a C2 or early C3 frame) Please see the last few pictures where I tried to highlight it. This frame should be ready to mount a suspension, drivetrain, and body to it. (I would suggest that you spray the inside of the frame to help keep it around for at least another 50 years.) This frame is made for a removable crossmember for an automatic trans, you can also use the standard / manual Muncie 4-speed (*). With the removable crossmember, you don’t have to cut and modify the welded in crossmember if you want to update to a newer style trans. (*)If you use a manual trans you will have to add the small bracket that holds the end of clutch cross shaft. I can include a new bracket ready for you to attach to the frame if you need it. While this 1975 frame, is a direct replacement for a 1975, 1976, or 1977, 1978, or 1979. The very rear crossmember on the 1978 and 1979 looks slightly different but everything bolts up the same. This frame can also be used for 1963-1967 or 1968-1974 if you change the back 1-1/2’ to 2’ of the frame for how the bumpers mount. Apparently it’s very common to buy this frame and cut off the back 2’ or so and then weld on the back 2’ of a donor frame to make it a C2 frame or whatever other year frame you want. Seems like a nice solid frame, but being an original 50 year old car frame there may be some small dings, or light pitting in some areas. The gentleman I bought it from had it stripped, and coated/painted. This Original Reconditioned Corvette frame was Made in the USA (St. Louis, Missouri). You can do local Pick up, or arrange for freight, or other transportation like uship. The estimated weight is about 300 lbs. (maybe less, my wife and I can pick it up) Length is about 12 feet long and width at widest point is about 4-1/2 feet wide. I don’t have the ability to ship it, but if you want to make your own shipping arrangements through a freight company, a shipping auction site like uship, or any other method you can find. I will definitely work with you on timing as I know it takes time to make arrangements to pick it up. This can be hauled in the bed of a pickup truck if you have the ability to unload it. (overhead hoist, engine hoist maybe, strong friends, ….) and padding to keep it from getting scratched. (I did haul my old frame in a Dodge Ram with a 6-1/2 foot bed and the tailgate down without any issues) You can also rent a 12’ U-Haul trailer for around $36/day, which is much easier to load and unload.
