Description: DarboyA wonderful pair of 1925-30 French art deco lamps. Daum made coloured shades on wrought iron bases of outstanding quality produced for the company L'électro matériel. A large Parisian enterprise with its workshops and showrooms at 7 rue Darboy street. Among other things it sold electric heaters appliances and lighting fixtures. Electro Materiel sold a model art deco lamp base in silvered spelter with their Darboy signature on it. (In fact, this base was designed by Charles Ranc who sold a gilded bronze version himself which was unsigned but with the C.Ranc foundry marks on it.) For their luxurious lamps Electro Materiel ordered lampshades in coloured double layered handblown glass with pigment inclusions at the Daum Lorrain factories in Nancy. The shades Daum made for Electro Materiel are signed Darboy in colored ink.The lamps on offer are 32,1 cm high (12,6 inches). They are in excellent condition. The bases have a nice deep-brown patina. The pair is rewired with stylish cloth covered twisted cord and online switches. For the States Canada and Japan I placed American candelabra base sockets and US 2-prong plugs. For other countries I will rewire the lamps with European E14 sockets. Free worldwide shipping.
