Deadpool Classic 5 begins with Wade Wilson in Japan where he’s faced with a miniature version of himself genetically manufactured by the Yakuza. It turns out Wilson had lived in Japan years before where he was contracted to kill a Sumo wrestling champion, but ended up befriending him and reneging on his deal, and now he’s reunited with him. During that period some of Pool’s blood was scooped up and sold to the Yazuka who created their own little Deadpool to carry out contract killings. After that things get serious as Deadpool goes for psychiatric help from Dr. Bong a character that has a giant bell for a helmet! The problem is Deadpool feels like he’s losing his mind, a novel idea, and his dead wife reappears to mix him up even more. The doctor’s recommendation is to take part in some senseless violence with another superhero and Wilson picks Wolverine for that honor. He also tangles with Bullseye, the Black Talon and finally his nemesis T-Ray. Only a Deadpool comic could take a character like the Black Talon and give him the proper respect this character deserves! Needless to say Classic 5 is hilarious, and a great collection to read. The artwork is generally top notch and the dialogue is full of nonsense that makes Deadpool the Merc with the mouth.
