Description: On December 1, 1984 Delta Airlines flew special commemorative covers on the initial flight of a new Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 aircraft. The Delta Airlines press announcement stated that the inaugural flight would be between Atlanta and Washington, D.C., but the destination was changed to Birmingham shortly before the flight.All the covers carried on the flight were postmarked at the Atlanta Airport Mail Facility.All of the covers carried on the flight received an attractive foil cachet label which was applied by the airline. This cover was carried on the inaugural Delta Airlines Boeing 757 flight from the Atlanta, Georgia Airport Mail Facility to Birmingham, Alabama (where it was backstamped).
