This is a recently transplanted and rooted offset growing in mineral substrate in a 3.5" rose pot. Dicranopygium tatica, endemic to the Caribbean lowlands of northern and central Costa Rica, is one of the more elegant rheophytic and stream-associated cyclanths native to southern Central America. Leaves are bifid with elongated, narrow segments. Best cultivated under shady, humid, intermediate to warm conditions. This species may be a bit too tall for smaller terraria but is slow growing and can be managed to ~20"/50 cm height for many years. Another Mesoamerican cyclanth gem, this species is very rarely available in the horticultural trade. All plants offered are greenhouse grown on benches in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.
