Description: WITH SPRING JUST AROUND THE CORNER, THIS BEAUTIFUL REPRESENTATION OF A FOREST RENEWED FROM DISNEY'S CLASSIC BAMBI WILL BE A GREAT WAY TO WELCOME THE SEASON! This is a rare and limited edition Olszewski Story Time figurine of Disney's Bambi titled "A Forest Renewed". The figurine depicts a beautiful scene from the beloved film and stands at a height of 7 inches. The figurine was released in 2005 and is a great addition to any Disneyana or contemporary figurine collection. It is a must-have for any Bambi fan and is sure to bring joy to any room it is displayed in. I don't believe this piece was ever displayed. It has been sitting in its box since I purchased it way back in 2005. I am selling it as a "Used" piece because I'm not sure if it was ever taken out of its box for any length of time. It looks to be brand new so you are getting a real find here. This beautiful figurine is 6.75" H x 4.25" and comes with its original box, a certificate of authenticity, a special postcard announcing the release of this figurine, and a card all about Robert Olszewski, the artist. Here's a little description of the scene from the postcard that comes with it: Once again the seasons had turned full circle, with the winter snows melting and the soft scent of spring in the air. All of the woodland creatures excitedly gathered to meet the new Prince of the Forest. To their surprise a single fawn didn't greet them, as was customary. This year there were two fawns, nestled close to proud Faline. Here's a little about Bambi I found on Wikipedia: Bambi is a 1942 American animated drama film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures. It is based on the 1923 novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Austrian author and hunter Felix Salten. The film was produced by Walt Disney and directed by David Hand and a team of sequence directors. The main characters are Bambi, a white-tailed deer; his parents (the Great Prince of the forest and his unnamed mother); his friends Thumper (a pink-nosed rabbit); and Flower (a skunk); and his childhood friend and future mate, Faline. In the original book, Bambi was a roe deer, a species native to Europe; but Disney decided to base the character on a mule deer from Arrowhead, California. Illustrator Maurice "Jake" Day convinced Disney that the mule deer had large "mule-like" ears and were more common to western North America; but that the white-tail deer was more recognized throughout America. A little about the Story Time series: Story-Time is a collection of personal interpretations of classic children's literature including Disney inspired miniatures. Each cameo represents memorable storytelling moments from the films and will be able to stand-alone or be grouped to tell the story from beginning to end. Here's a little info I found out about Robert Olszewski I found on his website: Robert William Olszewski (pronounced ol-shes-ski) has established himself as a major influence in the creation and production of miniature figurative art. Robert Olszewski began his art career first as a painter and as an art teacher who evolved to become a world known miniature figurative artist, sculptor, and architect. In 1977, his first serious miniature figurative works were sculpted to accessorize a doll house that he built for his daughter, Meredith. Over a 30-year career, Olszewski’s miniature work continues to evolve, and he has created a body of work that is collected worldwide.
