Where we do strive for "new" in the AA and A level dolls, sometimes the shortage of "the perfect skin tone" in 1966 bodies (that are needed to fill out some designer dresses) makes this difficult. These dolls are for collectors looking for something truly special. While Grade AA may have the same bodies or the same types of dresses as Grade A dolls, Grade AA Barbies have a little extra "zing". These dolls doll may have been repainted, or the artist may have spent an extra few hours creating a more intricate work of art with the hair. In some instances, there may be a hard to find body (including the original head), or a dress that is more intricate than grade A. If you have a question about the doll, please ask. Grade A dolls, in most cases, include heads with custom-designed hair, or in some cases original heads that were already too pretty to mess with. Grade A dresses are extra special. Created by a dress designer, these are not your daughter’s play-dresses. Gowns are layered like a real dress. No skimping on material. Beading (where applicable) is hand-sewn and designed so each dress is just a little different. You can feel the quality in these dresses. These designers don’t mess around. For display only Ages 12+ Stand included B Sometimes you just need to have a doll Like Grade A, Grade B Dolls, in most cases, include heads with custom-designed hair, or in some cases original heads that were already too pretty to mess with. The big difference in Grade B dolls is that you will notice the change in the dress quality. The designs are lovely, and look great on the dolls. They just lack that "extra something special" that would make it a Grade A. In most cases, the dresses are not lined, and do not have the weight of a Grade A dress. Less material will be used. Most are easier to get on or off, because they are not custom fitted to the doll. (This may be a plus, depending on the collector) Bodies may be new or recycled. If there are any marks on the doll, we will try to let you know, but please ask if you are concerned with anything in particular. Please note that if you have purchased Grade A or AA from us, DO NOT expect the same excellence in design in the grade B dresses.
