This Early American Pattern Glass clear "GALLOWAY" butter dish is antique glass that has survived well over 100 years of survival and because of age has now become a beautiful family heirloom piece of glass that is in excellent condition having NO chips, cracks, scratches, and no glass staining; I may also add that this EAPG CLEAR "GALLOWAY" LARGE ROUND COVERED BUTTER DISH is an early vintage antique glass butter dish that has been used and displayed over many years and still remains in beautiful heirloom condition; As you can see in the photos, the top finial has the pattern on the finial on the lid to match the pattern on the bottom of this butter dish, the gold gilt stain is ever bit 85% still on this butter dish; The glass is very thick and also very good clear quality glass, I will add that this "GALLOWAY" butter dish that I have here does have those Early American Pattern Glass characteristics of the glass that was produced at this time of the glass making era having your straw marks, stress marks, and air bubbles inside the glass, these characteristics are from the glass being produced and are not considered damage; A non-flint large and highly collected glass pattern produced by the "The United States Glass Company, out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, around 1904"; This large and highly collected "GALLOWAY" pattern can be seen in one of my many reference materials, one by "Reilly & Jenks",the book "EARLY AMERICAN PATTERN GLASS COLLECTOR'S IDENTIFICATION & PRICE GUIDE" show this very large and highly collected pattern on pages #212 - #214; Numerous (all) photos were taken outside in natural daylight in different backgrounds in numerous angles and positions to show pattern, condition, glass clarity, & size hoping to answer any and all questions but if need be you can E-mail me or you can see me on my NEW web site at terrymackeyantiques.com.
