Description: For sale is an antique primitive likely 19th century cast iron cauldron with wire bail It is in good condition with no rust holes and the bail "ears" are solid. You can see the gate mark on the bottom of the pot indicating an early origin. Would go well in a primitive kitchen or hearth display. About 7" diameter 7" tall . Great original blackened patina! light rust. Age appropriate surface wears and imperfections are present. It sits nice and stable. No wobble. Overall, this is a classical example that showcases the early American iron foundry’s craftsmanship. A great display item by itself for collectors of antique cast iron /primitive Kitchen and hearth tools. Feel free to check out my other antique and collectible listings (many more fireplace hearth items). I gladly combine shipping whenever practical.
